Jayden, the Hero, also seemed to lack the intensity that I have come to expect and look forward to when reading Ms. I mean, she injures her ankle, is surprised by what she thinks is an axe murderer (really the hero) and decides that the best way to escape is to ROLL AWAY? *sigh* No. Lily, the heroine in this book, crosses over into frustratingly silly side of naïve and that dropped my enjoyment. Her heroes are always super yummy, and her heroines are likable, if not a sometimes naive. I have loved almost all of this author’s work because even when the plotline was less than realistic, the chemistry between the MCs has always been spot on. That’s when I decide that I’m going to seduce Jayden… Hot, sweaty, sultry research with my gorgeous new mountain man friend. What I need is a little mountain man inspiration to get the book going again. Suddenly, with Jayden’s shirtless body to gawk at while he chops wood, the words start flowing and my book comes alive.īut when it’s time to write the love scene, the words dry up and I have nothing. His name is Jayden Rowe and he’s a rugged mountain man who says he owns everything on this mountain. It comes in a big, bearded, growly package. It’s all a disaster until I’m wandering through the woods and see some much-needed inspiration.
